    Securing the Mobility Device

Releasing the Securements

    1. Press button on wall to unlock securements
    2. Button changes from green to red
    3. 2 minutes to secure

Securement Principles

    1. Attach to a WC19 attachment location or a good solid frame member
    2. No twisting/crossing belts, or belts resting on frame
    3. Try to achieve a 45 degree belt angle with the front & rear securements

Difficulty Finding Attachement Location

    1. You may occasionally need to use webbing loops to secure difficult mobility devices
    2. Webbing Loops should only be used when necessary

    Securing the Occupant

Aisle Side

    1. Remove aisle portion of lap belt from platform and route close to the passenger's body

Wall-Side

    1. Remove occupant securement from the wall/flip seat and connect to the aisle-side buckle
    2. Make sure belts are not held away from passenger's body by frame members
    3. Desired Fit: Shoulder belt across shoulder, lap belt across the pelvic region, release buckle low and tight on passenger’s hip

    1. Some devices require detaching wall-side occupant securement from connector on platform to route belt more effectively

    System Check

    (Final Securement Steps)

Lock the System

    1. With the passenger and device secured, lock system by pressing wall button
    2. Button changes from red to green
    3. Green indicates system is locked

    1. Check tension on webbing loops if used
    2. Perform 'push-pull' test to double check your securement

    Deboarding

Release Securement

    1. To start deboarding, press wall button to release securements
    2. Button changes from green to red, indicating system is unlocked

    2. Guide aisle-side lap belt and buckle back into platform
    3. Remove securement hooks from frame and lay hooks flat into channels
